Description

An original equipment manufacturer, or OEM, manufactures product or components that are purchased by another company and retailed under that purchasing company’s brand name. OEM refers to the company that originally manufactured the product.

SIS sources the highest quality recycled rubber for its manufacturing. All synthetic rubber production begins with the refining of oil, coal or other hydrocarbons. During the refining process, naphtha is produced. The naphtha is collected and can then be combined with natural gas to produce monomers such as styrene and isoprene, which are necessary for the production of synthetic rubber. The monomers are then generally subjected to either an emulsion polymerization process or a solution polymerization process. In both cases, the idea is to create chains of polymers which results in a latex or rubber substance. These substances can then be processed into useful rubber products using techniques such as vulcanization, which is used to produce modern rubber products found in the world today.

SIS understands that there are two distinctly different corporations / individuals that approach us to manufacture products on their behalf. These are firstly where a new product is being developed from its infancy and feasibility studies are being conducted on this material and secondly, where an existing product manufactured from more standard materials such as timber or steel is to be re-birthed due to either performance issues with the existing or to increase a products environmental credentials.

SIS understands that during the development process of any new product there is in most cases a fragile path of which needs to be walked in relation to the intellectual property rights associated with designs, drawings etc. SIS treats intellectual property of all its clients with the up most sensitivity and can be trusted as a development partner of any OEM component or product.
