Aquaculture

Aquaculture, also known as aqua-farming, is the farming of aquatic organisms such as fish, crustaceans, molluscs and aquatic plants. SIS assists the aquaculture industry in the cultivating of freshwater and saltwater populations under controlled conditions, with sustainable materials. This allows the industry to be more in-sync with environmental issues both globally and locally given our products are non permeable and manufactured from the highest possible amount of recycled and reclaimed materials.

The most popular of materials is recycled WPC which is now being used extensively by the oyster farming industry to replace far less sustainable offerings in applications such as vertical pile supports. These are mostly hollow sections driven into the seabed and back filled with concrete. Not only are our materials sustainable, they also perform far better than alternatives given the harsh marine environments that they exist in.

Our 100% recycled plastic product is also a genuine alternative to other materials and is useful in projects such as offshore floating net farms. With a design life in excess of 100 years, these materials are light weight, strong and UV protected therefore giving the stakeholder the opportunity to tick all of the boxes.
